Default Dynomax cat back = horrible mpg..?

So... about a year ago, a friend and I did a driveway install of the Dynomax cat back exhaust system with the Super Turbo muffler. Since then, however, I have gotten HORRIBLE mpg...

I used to be able to get like 15 around town, and maybe 17 ish highway. Now, I usually do a mix of city/highway regularly, and I only get 11 and change. Highway, I cant even break 14.

What do yall think is up..? Heres the link to the setup I got:

http://www.dynomax.com/part_view.php...431&engine=5.7

Its a SI/DO. And the Super Turbo, like I said. Thanks, guys.

Cant speak for the super turbo..had a 14 inch ultraflow on 05 dakota with the 4.7. Saw a small increase in mileage... Definitely no drop... Any chance your foot is heavier from wanting to hear it as the super turbos are supposed to be pretty tame

I thought about that, even though I dont even really punch it a lot. But I tried anyway, and a maybe gained 1 mpg... If I remember correctly, I barely broke 12 mpg... I tried that a few months ago, if I remember correctly.

But, yea, thats what I had heard too, that the Super Turbo's were pretty tame, which is one of the reasons I bought it... That, and I got a good deal on it haha.

So... I was thinking... maybe if I got a Magnaflow y-pipe and possibly some headers, I'd see better results..? What do yall think? Maybe a ported tb too..?

For starters just have a Magnaflow welded in place of the Dynomax to see if it is the issue. The Y-pipe is not a necessity, unless you plan on serious engine mods later on. My truck breaths just fine with the 18" design. I gained a tiny bit of power without loosing mpg.

it's probably affecting you instead of helping you. the pressure might be too much.

that muffler looks a little on the short side...and if you haven't changed the Y pipe yet i would do that (check to see if existing Y is pinched)...since you have a flashpaq, can you datalog a/f's during idle and part throttle? am curious how the trims look like..

Thanks for the advice guys..!

So, I think I gathered the right data for A/F ratio..? Sorry, I've never used the data logging feature... I'm not stupid, I swear, haha.

Fuel Trim Press:
STFT B1: -7.0% through 0.0%
STFT B2: -7.0% through 0.0%
LTFT B1: 4.7%
LTFT B2: 7.0%

Oxygen Sensors:
B1 S1T: -3.94% through .78%
B2 S1T: -4.12% through .78%
B1 S2T: 99.21%
B1 S2T: 99.21%

Sorry... I don't know if this is the right information... I don't know what any of this means... Haha. But I'm willing to learn
