Default Coolant smell in cab...

Hi all , my 08 has become my daily driver and I have noticed once in a while while I have the defroster a blasting I smell antifreeze , it's not all the time it's maybe happened 4 times over the past 2 months. I checked the hoses , looked over the water pump /weep hole and have found no leaks. My coolant level has not dropped and it doesn't seem to happen when I'm running the heat on floor or vent just sometimes when the defroster a are going??? Anyone have any clue where I should be looking as far as the problem ....

How do I check a heater core? The hoses in the engine bay are not leaking and there's no coolant on my passenger floor. What are my options as far as checking it

Short of pulling the dash u can pressurize the system with a tester or get your wallet out and go to a repair shop.
