Default Seat cover wear??

I just bought a 2011 quadcab SLT with 21K on her. Although I have the nerf bars I find myself sliding down the seat when I exit although I am 6' tall. My expensive OEM grey sheepskin seat covers from my ML320 fit like a glove with the same holes for the headrests so I installed them tonight. Will these canvas type seats hold up well with the seat covers when I only do 4-5k a year on my truck(in & out a bunch)? My last Jeep's seats held up fine but they were leather, not canvas/cloth with a $19 Wal-Mart crap cover on them. I think I should be fine but wondering. The sheeps are leather/suede underneath with a cotton liner(t-shirt like) under that...which rubs on the seats. I just don't want to do any harm to my seats. If somebody has experience with these kind of covers vs cheapo Wal-Mart ones.....plus they are plush and came with my last car in 2001 and been sitting in the closet, etc for years so why not.

Hello biggiefl,
I think you will be just fine and are doing the right thing putting good quality seat covers on. I put good fabric seat covers on my 2003 RAM Quad Cab SLT cloth front seats right on day 1 and they are still on the truck 10 years later (145,000 km) - Dad has the truck now. I only removed them every few years to wash them. The original seat fabric underneath is still like new but the cushioning underneath is noticeably less firm on the Driver's side. Only thing I would suggest is that the sides of the seats are also well covered by your seat covers - especially the Driver's side left where you slide off when you exit the truck. Many friends laught at me when I always put seat covers on day 1 but they can't believe how mint the interior is years later when I take them off. Good investment.

One of the main reasons I lowered my truck (other than looks). Cost me less than an expensive set of seat covers, and looks/handles very nice to boot! Seat covers are a good idea though, just not as cool...

Be sure to "pull" yourself out of the truck with your left arm on the drivers side a-pillar.

That will keep your rear from sliding out on the seat edge.

I try and pull or flop out of my truck every time i exit.....don't work out that way. I will post a pic as they really look nice along with the burl wood dash I installed today(what a biotch). Not a huge fan of sheeps but the good ones are REALLY sweet and comfy.
