Kozzy
first check with your Dealer

may i make a suggestion, you should send for BUILD SHEET, your dealer may be willing to print one out for you
But if they balk or make like they are too busy

go to this website
http://www.ramtrucks.com/webselfserv...ucks/index.jsp
scroll down to Customer Assistance
you will be asked for your VIN# & current mileage

Ask them for a BUILD SHEET, it is FREE & they send it ASAP
the build sheet will tell you Everything that is on your Ram

thanks for the tip, got the build sheet, excellent resource. But, i dont see an engine block heater on the list, so I am thinking my truck does not have it. Very strange, I fugred a diesel would have it standard.

Yes if your build sheet doesn't have it listed it isn't there. When I had my 2012 it was an add...like $50 but still an add. The dealer I bought mine from put the heater on all the diesel trucks for that exact reason...they were diesel trucks!!

If its like the 2009 1500, I found my cord inside the hood, right behind the passenger headlight. it's tucked up there near the grill. It sits out right next to the passenger headlight. Good Luck!

the dealer ended up calling me right back, and confiormed that my truck does not have one. It is about $300 for them to add it on now, so Ill wait and see. They wantyed to know why trhe truck wond not have had one when it was orderd (The didnt order it, they located it at another dealer and brought it in for me) . The Other dealer was still in upsate NY though. They said they dont order them with out it, so I lose I guess. So far this winter, I havent needed it anyways.., and I probably never will

Default No Cord !!

As far as I know I don't have one either all my Fords did. The dealer when I bought it said it wasn't necessary usually they are just guessing. I couldn't find it as a option on my invoice. I saw it was on the Cold Weather package, had I ordered this truck I would have purchased that, it gets cold in Ohio quite often. My truck is in a non heated garage and outside at work. It has started ok with the temp around 10 deg at work.

Same here. So far I have had no problems. By garage is not heated and when I work nights it is outside. The other morning it was -15 here all night and at 7 am. Started just like normal. I talked I a buddy of mine that has had his CTD for years and dosent have a block heater and claims he has never needed one. So I'm not to worried about it
