Yup.. I never ran oiled filters. Also those turbos suck a lot of air... which can suck oil up into the turbo... I only run dry. I ordered mine from

Thanks again. The actual part number I need for mine is slightly different, and on that site it is 447... I just found it on realtruck.com for355 and free shipping, I think I'm gonna go with it. Thanks again for all the info

If thats the one that fits then do it! AFE stage 2 pro dry S! Cant go wrong. Only other intake I would even consider is S&B. But like I said all I ran on my diesels was AFE. I just now am running S&B on my Hemi. I just know they are both good products so I would go on which one is the best $$$. But those are the only two CAIs I would run on a Cummins

The 6.7 does have a better intake than the stock 5.9, but I have always thought that CAI's are almost necessary on Cummins... But this is JMO

This is exactly the same CAI I put in my truck. I went ahead and did it for the simple reason that I also did the DPF delete and EGR removal and installed an H&S Mini Maxx, so I figured...what the heck? I went with AFE for their reputation with Cummins.

I ordered mine last night, Now the DPF and EGR delete, what does that involve?
I was also looking at the H & S Mini Maxx, what does that cost, and what is involved with using that? I am not tne to cars and mechanics, but I am new to doing these types of mods. Im happy with the power I have, I would like some better MPG's though.

Kozzy:

The DPF delete I had completed by a local shop who has better tools than I do for removing the exhaust back to the turbo and installing a custom exhaust. The EGR removal I did myself, and, although it took me all day, was pretty simple to do.

I ordered my EGR removal kit from Custom Diesel in Morristown, TN. They send you install instructions with it, but to be honest they are not accurate. I had to update the instructions for a 2012 6.7L Cummins. The best kit (install instruction-wise) I think (if you can find one) is made by H&S. They are based out of Utah. Unfortunately, they have temporarily suspended their operations somewhat due to a riff with the EPA. Not sure when that will be resolved.

I also found and purchased an H&S Mini Maxx tuner (with pyro and OD software) and installed that as well. All told it cost me a couple grand for all of the mods. Again...I did a lot of the work myself, so that shaved off some labor cost.

It is all well worth it though! I am seeing incredible HP gains and much improved gas mileage. If you want to get more info, other than what you find in this forum, I would recommend checking out a few of the forums that specialize in diesel performance.

Hope this helps!

Tim

Removing the DPF and EGR is one of the most important and wise investments you can make with a 6.7L. Problem, some states will not let you due to vehicle inspections and it voids all and any warranties. However if your state allows and you could are less about warranties DO IT. right now your air flow is like a straw. Removing DPF and EGR will let the motor breath. It makes the motor more bulletproof, massive increases in HP, and massive mpg increases. When you delete the DPF and EGR you have to get a programmer like H&S to remove engine codes. Otherwise your engine will throw a code. This is probably one of the most important mods and wisest investments you can make. But it is pricey and will remove warranties. IMO, it is 100% worth it.

as stated above you can all of it yourself even the exhaust is fairly easy . Alot of your diesel shops will sell what they call the complete dpf, egr, programmer kit usually and it includes it all. I always got my parts from either kens performance solutions or alligator performance, or throughbred diesel. Great guys to work with and very fair priced. just did a buddies truck with him and for everything i believe it was right around $1400-$1600 for all parts and a afternoon of working and some beers and his truck was done and on the road. Best investement ever on these new diesel is getting rid of the emissions crap. Also depends on your dealership because some of them will let you do the deletes and still warrenty it. I know m dealership will honor warrenty even with the deletes. Might want to check into that first, but sometimes takeing the risk is worth it to because we have had to put the exhaust and dpf back on before for a guy so he could get his dealership to warrenty it.
