Default Different brand ok?

So I need to replace only two of my tires on my truck. On there right now I have Falken Ziex S/Z04 on 22s. I can get a GREAT deal on two Kumho Ecsta STX tires. I was wondering is it bad to have two different brands? It's not my liking to do two different brands but money is tight right now.

My personal preference also is to keep the same brand....that aside, as long as the sizes and load rating class are the same between new and old, there is absolutely no issue. I picked up a nail in the shoulder of my stockers a month after purchase and only available at the time was a different brand. 5K mile road trip later with 800lb motorcycle in the bed and no issues. Just keep them rotated regularly and you should see no issues.

As long as they're the same size, you'll be ok. That being said, not all tires that have the same size on the sidewall will be the same size when physically compared side by side (this is especially true between off-road tires of name and generic brands).

Does speed rating matter?

Let me ask you this; I just did the tread check by using a penny and quarter. I was checking my two good tires and in some spots it had 4/32 and some 6/32. Should I just buy then two new tires or those two other tires that are used but still decent tread life left?
