I'd actually asked the dealer about this specifically, as I was looking at a 2010 (for the Mango Tango paintjob!) that only had the 430, and I absolutely must have GPS for work. The dealer said they wouldn't have any direct options to do this, at best I'd likely have to find one at a wrecker and change it myself... probably wouldn't be too much of a big deal?

I'm actually having this done.

The truck I bought came with the 430, I wanted 430N.

The dealer ordered it and says they can switch it out in a few hours when it gets here (next Saturday).

There is some additional wiring that needs to be run for the GPS Antenna, I'm not sure if the harness is the same.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I just picked up a 2011 Sport 4x4 with the 430 but wanted the 430N. I was wondering the same thing. I know that the 430 & 430N are the exact same head unit, so I assume you should be able to install the Navi module to the back of the unit, the Navi antenna and maybe a software update. Please post how it turns out and what is all involved

Oh yeah and this is my first Dodge (Ford Man usually). I've been very impressed with how Dodge has redesigned these trucks.

Going to have to disagree with you there on theory, no 100% proof to back it up. They can't be the exact same since there's no NAV button on the RBZ. I haven't seen a sport with the NAV here, only Laramie with the 730.

I'm looking for what the sales code & parts would be to make this upgrade happen myself though. I would have to assume that it's the same manufacturer, Mitsubishi or whoever it is, so the iPhone/iPod 4G issues will probably still be there too, hopefully that update comes out PDQ, whether Apple or MysteryManufacturer gets there first.

Ok, I'm wrong about the button... it's a soft button on the upper right of the screen. I found a VERY detailed ebay posting for a 2011 Ram sport with NAV. Looks like the code on the radio is RHB though.

Read a post on a Jeep forum that it's a simple swap, no extra parts needed. If you find somebody selling 430Ns, let me know, I'd love to do it if the price was right.

Here's that post btw: http://www.***************/showthread.php?t=17046
the *** is jeepgarage dot org. Apparently we can't post links?

I don't know who makes the radio itself
but, the NAV part is made by Garmin

the old 730N RER had a Harmon Kardon based NAV

wait just a bit before jumping into a new radio w/ nav
i heard rumors of a new radio coming out in the next month or so, or if NOT, the new radio for the 2011 models will be getting SIRIUS TRAFFIC added, maybe it will be the 430n model that gets it, as a software upgrade

I personally have the 730N RER, but, it doesn't work all that well when doing NAV, so i purchased a hand held Garmin that works in my Ram, i paid a bit extra & i get LIFETIME MAP UPGRADES, which the radios don't have
you have to buy new upgrades all the time for $199 each update

on sale i bought this for $199 if i remember correctly
got the GPS, lifetime maps, & a mount for the vehicle

this unit is even better, for about the same price, it has bluetooth too

Well, I think those radios are out. My 2011 has a 'new' RBZ, non nav, and they list a 730 as getting nav/traffic if you build a new Ram today. I think this round of 430 class radios was new for this year or late last. I should have clarified that if you find a 430N (RHB) at the right price...

If they bring out another new one and don't fix the issues with this generation, I'm lodging a complaint with Chrysler and doing whatever it takes to get it fixed. The iPhone/iPod sync just does not work as advertised with new both units, and while I didn't buy the vehicle because of it, I did buy my iPod afterwords with the intent of using it in the new pickup... then there's the Android people with issues... I could go on and on.

Might want to wait until they come out with that upgrade though before doing anything, just in case there are any of those shady grade shenanigans.

Chrysler is not going to update for the Apple products

Apple just came out with an update for their Ipod4, it was suppose to make the Ipod work better with our vehicles
