Default Brake Controller Electrical Harness

I have a 2013 Ram 1500, have been trying to have a brake controller put in so electric brakes on Travel Trailer will work. Non of the after-market harnesses will work. Dodge does NOT have a harness. How can you build a vehicle that's meant to tow, and not be able to stop it? It has built-in plugs on bumper for both flat 4 and round 7 wires, but no way to hook it up to controller. This vehicle is not able to be used for it's intended purpose. Help

You should have the wiring under the dash if you have the rear wiring and depending what model but the controllers and switch panels are not available at every dealer. Some guys have had the dealer install them.
The two connectors for the controller should be up under the dash above the gas pedal but towards the dash front.
You are right in saying that the aftermarket controller adapters will not work as wired but with a one wire change they can be made to work.
I took a picture of the connectors in my 2013 SLT in one of the threads below.
Here are a few threads to read.

I bought the factory ITBM and installed it my self in my 2012 ram. Had to get my dealer to put it in computer so it would work. Really nice look in dash. Now my question, I set the Gain at 4.0 and took trailer on its maiden trip. Trailer is 27ft, #5800 empty so with all my gear about 6200. While traveling up a rather steep hill about 4 miles long my truck was roaring and then I started smelling brakes burning. I pulled over and put gain at 0 and truck pulled like there was no trailer. As long as I keep it at 0, when I apply brakes the unit reads 1.0 then 2.0 with a max of 3.0. is this normal operation for this? Dealer said that's how it works, computer "knows" when more brake is needed. I can not find any operational info in my manual.

2013 wiring & brake controller is unlike any other year
the new controller goes in the center dash board, near the Tow/Haul button

if you go to the E-trailer website, you will see that Tekonsha was given the ok by Chrysler to connect into the wiring as long as they use a special wiring adaptor

remember, that the after market controllers can be knee bruisers
