If I'm not mistaken, the HFE model only has a better rating for City (18 vs 17 MPG). This is because of the start-stop feature that turns off the vehicle when it's warmed up and stopped (at a red light or the likes).

Test drove a SLT V6 8 speed today, honestly it was the nicest truck I have driven. It had plenty of pick up and go! I zeroed out the MPG and after my testy drive of about 50-50 city and highway it was showing 22 MPG
I am sold on the V6 8 speed!

Sorry would love to PM but I don't have enough posts
Would live to just confirm what I want is doable I gave the dealer a build sheet from edmunds but haven 't heard back from them yet.
Where you able to get heated bucket seats and a heated steering wheel?
Thanks!

The combination of heated seats and V6 may not be available yet, but eventually the Ram brass have stated that the V6 would be available on all trim levels. Unfortunately they have done a poor job of communicating the time frames. And the official Ram build and price site is useless in configuring what you can actually get. For example try pricing and building the Big Horn or Luxury packages on an SLT, despite the fact that these are routinely found on dealer lots. The Costco configurator is actually better than the official Ram one.

So for now, patience is a virtue. The logistics of transitioning to the new '13's with 8spds and V6's with the diesel not far behind, is mind boggling.
