Default Lights for floor.

I want to put a light on the driver and pass side under the dash to shine on the floor but i want it to dim with the dashlighs. Is this something someone has done? If so what wire did you tap into to do it? I would like to know this before i start poking and pulling wires.

I have a couple small lights that would work perfect.

Thanks in advance.

I've done it. Just tap into the dome light circuit running up the drivers A-pillar.

Give me a few to look over the diagrams and I'll see what I can find.

I believe the wire coming off pin 3 of the headlamp switch is what you're looking for to power the lights.

I did this on my Mustang. I rigged up the lights and ran the power cord strait to the fuse box. Yes I said fuse box. Find the fuse for the GAUGE CLUSTER lights. PULL the fuse out... Stick the POWER cord right inside the gap. Take the fuse and SHOVE the fuse right back into its spot. YOu will now have a fuse in its correct spot with a wire comming out of it. It will fit and I have done it all the time it is safe trust me. Your Lights are NOW SAFE TO USE because they are running and getting power from that fuse. Your lights should not burn up and it is safe. Now take the Negative wire and just connect it to any ground source of the vehicle.

This is also better because you do not have to splice and cut wires and tap into wires and use electrical tape or anything in that nature. I am sure there is a rubber grommit / plug way up by the gas pedal / brake. Just run the wires through that but you might have to use a metal coat hanger to help guide the wires through. tape the wires to the coat hanger and pull it through.

FYI that fuse box is not from a ram. I just found something on the net that looks like what you are trying to do.
