Default Removing 430n for chr550 install

It seems like I have seen a thread about this but I am coming up with nothing in my searches. Is there a step by step on how to remove 430n and installing the chr550? I am hoping it will be easy and I'd like to be able to use the USB port in the glove box for the lockpick and not make any new holes.

Thanks in advance.

do I need to remove the entire radio to install the lockick? I would like to dismantle as little as possible because its been my experience that nothing ever goes back on the way it came off in any vehicle.

removing the 2009 - 2012 is extra easy, putting it back in is also easy

about 50% through this video, it shows the basics of installing the Lockpick, it is in a Jeep, but it is basically the same as your Ram

Is it the same for the touch screen radio? I think I saw one of those but turned it off because it wasn't the 430n touchscreen.

Just watched middle video. Looks a little to easy! Lol. I worry about breaking the panel when I pull it off though.

the RBZ 430 doesn't have the navigation & it is a touch screen
you can use a back up camera with it, just like the 430N
they both are the same, except for the Nav
i don't remember if you can use voice commands to make calls, on one or both of them

Most auto parts stores see plastic trim tools, that is what was being used by the guy in the video to pry the stubborn panel off, saves the fingernails without scratching it

The top video shows the guy pulling at the top but he doesn't have the same radio. The middle he pulls from the bottom. I should be getting the lockpick today but I am working all day and do not have the truck. Are there notches to pry from? Why do so many people talk about removing the center console parts like the trim around the shifter?

In the video the guy has a lot more room at the bottom. Looks like his console around the shifter was removed already. I have the top clips popped but I can't get the bottom out because it rests against the platinum color top trim of the center console around the cup holders and shifter. Do I need to remove that first? It's not mentioned in the video.

nevermind. I got it and everything is put back together and working minus the chrome trim around the shifter since that was the hardest part and I am not sure if I want my ipod wire to stay where it is or not. Where did you guys runthe ipod wire? I have mine ran through the hole in the upper glove box where the light bulb is but its so thick that its hard to close the glove box... I am thinking I might move it under the center console and have it come up between the drivers seat and center console but it might look a little stupid that way. I was nervous about breaking anything so I tested on the switches and knobs on the dash panel I removed to make sure all was working.

About the 4x4 knob. It says in the manual to press the neutral button before turning the knob to 4x4 Low. I had not ever done that because I did not read that section before but had only used the 4x4 maybe twice. Anyway, while testing it I pushed that button and the light blinks red once and then cuts off. Is this normal? Should I have the truck in drive before hand or something?? I hope I didn't mess anything up....

even though the radios in the videos may be different then yours,
all the stock radios are removed the same way
i didn't post the video of the radio removal with the full floor center console, but there is one on youtube

as for the ipod cable, you can get an extension cable & run it wherever you want
some people have run it down to that pocket where the center console & the full floor console come together

the video with the full floor console
