Default BEST Limited Slip Differential Option(s)...?

I realize that a lot of my traction related issues are directly attributed to the HORRIFIC "all season" tires on my truck, but with the little bit of snow we've had here recently, I'd argue that having an open differential isn't helping much either...

I've been all over the road with minimal accumulation, and actually had to put it in 4-wheel high (instead of AWD) just to keep it on the road. My wife's and daughter's MINI Coopers with FWD and Blizzaks rips through the same conditions like a mountain goat 'roid raging!

As much as I'd like to doing a gearing change (have 3.55s now, I'd like 3.92s) contemporaneously to installing a LSD it's a little too spicy a meatball to deal with right now.

So any advice/opinions are appreciated. MOPAR, aftermarket...?

Thanks!

I'm not sure going to 3.92's will make much of a difference for you; if you are going to go that route, go right to 4.10's to see a difference. Someone installed Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S on my 2009, and I hate them in the winter. They are ok on the dry road, but basically useless in snow. I'm going to the Wrangler Duratracs I had on my Bronco, they were awesome tires.

Check out Moes Performance, they have a section there on differentials and gearing that might help you out.

Thanks for the link! I tow a little bit so the 4.10s probably aren't a bad idea at all, and I'd be super pissed if I went through the trouble of changing gearing and didn't go big enough...

Definitely kind of torn on the diff. I don't off-road, I do tow occasionally and I'll likely crank up the HP/torque a little bit. Pretty sure the Detroit locker would be overkill but their True-Trac is looking pretty good...

I would also go lower on the gears, just my preference tho.

Eaton does not offer anything for the zf axle we have. All you can do is oem open carrier or oem lsd

We share the same ZF rear axle. The ZF axle lengths are different than previous years, thats the main issue.

Your thinking of the front, yes the 12 is facked on the front.

Matt @ Moe's Performance was kind enough to clear it up for me and candy08 is absolutely correct, the factory LSD is the only option, there's no aftermarket options for the ZF rear at this time...
