Default Defrost button... does it just turn on the AC?

What exactly does the defrost button do? Does it turn on the AC compressor when I have the heat on the floor (I think if heat is directed towards the windsheild it automatically turns on the AC compressor).

Yes, the A/C will kick on and the mode door will move to the fresh air position. This is to dehumidify the cab.

thats the rear defrost button, you push that and it defrosts back window and mirrors...love the mirror option

I think they should start calling it the DEFOG vs DEFROST as yes, it will melt some of the front on the outside of the windshield, but most of the time you use it to defog the inside. You need dry air in order to do that, hence why the A/C turns on...
