Default New 2012 Unconnect Serius / XM not working

So after doing tons of research on here I finally pulled the trigger on my 2012 Laramie 1500 CC 4x4. True blue pearl

I was playing with the radio ( 730N ) and when I try XM it says I'm not subscribed. I know I get 1 free year. Am I missing some basic settings or activation or should I bring it back to the dealer?

I would call Sirius first (phone number on window sticker of truck). Mine has worked since I test drove my truck the day I bought it.

Did your dealer activate your subscription? Mine did, but yours may not have or forgot to do so. Like cupcars said, either call Sirius or go to the dealer.

Go back to the dealership. The sirius was probably already activated by the dealer but when you purchased the truck it might have been 12 mos after it was activated causing it to run out. For example, almost all my trucks on my lot have sirius activated to show the features etc to customers. When a customer buys we call Sirius and tell them that the truck was just purchased and need the timer reset. This is very common. Mine is about to run out so i have to call and give then the Date or Purchase and get it reset. No worries, it works. Just needs to be reset (or possibly activated).

Great info. Never thought of that. I guess you work at a dealer?

Thanks for the suggestions. I called Serius and it hadn't been activated. Took about 30 minutes of info exchanging on the phone and they got it all set up!

Thanks for all the help!

Yes, I am a manager for a CDJR store. I just don't mention it, prices, deals, etc because I don't want to 1. break forum rules or 2. get that "he's a lieing car guy" perception. I usually just mention my job when answering questions but never try to sway people to me. Keeping business seperate from forum. I also have an offroad shop and manage a popular country band. But those have become side jobs I just cant let go of now that the car business is my passion and career.
