Default Problems with my 06 Dodge Ram truck

I am having problems with my 2006 dodge ram 2500 pickup with the 5.7L Hemi. It is getting about 6 mpg, the tachometer often drops to 100 rpm when it is idling, the single lights wont work or will not go off some times and i have to turn on and off the hazards to make them work agen, the display screen will just go blank and not come back until i restart the truck. I changed the spark plugs and put in fuel injector cleaner because it was idling rough now it runs good besides the amount of gas its still going throw.

I need some advice on what my problem(s) could be, and i would appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

scan for codes and let us know if you have anything? if not start checking spark, air, compression, fuel etc. clogged cats, how many miles are on it. There is a lot of info you are not providing to us.

it has 192374 miles and only code was for my ac, so i checked and the compressor was running so i just unplugged it and drove around (in 4x4) and my mpg went up to 11ish. But i don't know why it keeps running when the ac is off.

If the truck is in defrost mode, the A/C is automatically turned on to dehumidify the interior.

Ok so i found that my exhaust was loos just before the muffler, so i put it back on and for about a week i was getting about 10.5 mpg in 2wd with the ac unplugged. But now it went down to 8.7 mpg and code p0499 came up. There is also a strange buzzing noise cumming from behind the dash that comes and goes, still have occasional problems with the singnal lights and the tac will say im idling at 100 rpm when i hold the brake or am in park.

Apparently P0499 doesn't exist as a Mopar code.

I think your tach problem may be a separate issue. My 06 1500 5.7 does the same thing, but I'm still getting 15.5 mpg.

So I have still been having trouble with my truck. I have knocked out the insides of my cats and welded them back in and my mpg went to around 10mpg but a cuple days later it started going down. I have changed the upstream o2s and am getting spacers to put the new downstream o2s in. I relzed that all 4 of my o2s were deforent when I had the cats off but it ran fine for about a month at 10 mpg. Now I'm getting 5 mpg but it will drop off to 1.8 mpg and stall some times. When it goes down my truck chugges and tryed to die. If I drive in second so I am above 2000 rpm the mpg goes up abit and runs better some times.. Being in tow hall all so seams to help. But latly my check engen light is flashing and beeping and it looks like a garden house stream out of my tailpipe. And when I check the codes it's not showing any. All of the fluids are good and I have ran sea foam thro the intake and gas tank hasn't changed anything. Also I have nodised when it's revved up around 3000 rpm the red lightning bolt light comes on for some reson.
