Question How can I tell if I have the 26G or 32G fuel tank?

I can put in 22g of gas when the display reads about 55 miles till empty. My build sheet lists 26g tank under the standard options, but then lists "an extra 5g of gas" under options on the build sheet.

Its a 2011 quad cab 4x4 sport 5.7. I've read that putting in 22g is about right??

Your build sheet is correct. The 5 extra gallons of gas is the fuel shipped in the tank when the truck is new.

If you have the original paperwork that shows stock truck, and EXTRA added item upgrades. The 32g tank option will be there.

Run out of gas. ... fill it up. ... Look at gas pump to see how many gallons you purchased

^don't do that. EXTREMELY bad for fuel injected engines to run them out of gas. Fuel pumps get hot, the fuel keeps them cool, among other things. I never run mine much below 1/4.

Sounds like its the 26 cause I have put 26 gallons in my truck the over 50 miles left on the readout. My 16g in my 09 usually took between 20 and 22 to fill from below 1/4 tank.

No, no, no ,no, no.......... Don't go through all this calling and looking at build sheets!

All you have to do is fill the tank up to 3/4 and drive. If it feels like your getting rear ended every time you stop when fuel level is between 3/4 and 1/2 tank then you have the 32 gallon tank. If you feel nothing then you have the 26 gallon.

Easy test that will answer your question.

I don't know about that necessarily. I have the 32 gal tank and I can't say I have ever thought I was being rear ended when I stop.
