So when I shift into reverse or shift past reverse and the lights kick on for a sec I get a TPMS (tire pressure) light on the dash. It goes away a few seconds after I get out of reverse and sometimes it goes out a second after it comes on, while I'm still in reverse. I noticed it last night on my way into work. Maybe I just didn't notice it before...

Anyone have any ideas as to the cause... I'm new to 'turning wrenches' on modern vehicles. Up until this truck, I've only tinkered with 60's and 70's. And even then I was under the hood and wasn't messing with electronics much.

I'd love to figure out a way to prevent that light from popping up. Oh, and one instance so far I had only one light up, but I shifted to neutral and back to reverse and they both came on just fine....

I had this same problem yesterday when I wired up mine. I don't know what the problem could be but I also have a switch mounted in my cab (ill get pics up later) and when I first flip the switch my lights burn really bright for about 2 seconds then they dim down. Anyone know of the reason it's doing that?

This is very common for any HID ballast and TPMS sensors.
BUT....it should go away within a few secs and not stay on.

But this is very common
Happens to mine, heck it happens to mine when my automatic headlamps turn on and my front headlight ballasts are fired on.

GOT IT!

http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthr...o-interference

The TPMS works by sending radio waves to the EVIC. The HID Ballast, utilizing wires meant for halogen bulbs, transmits radio waves because they are unshielded! Which the EVIC misinterprets as TPMS error.

That link describes the solution is a capacitor-inductor... Ill be researching this more after the Super Bowl! GO RAVENS!!!

I'm not sure what shielded / unshielded ballasts means. I understand CANBUS and relays however.
As long as your dash light is shutting off a few seconds later than this is normal.
Many of us on the boards experience this

My buddy has a stock Infinity and his came with HID's and ballasts (he bought it used so don't know if the previous owner did it or if it came from the factory that way) however his does the same thing.
