Perhaps a thread with a poll in it so the OP can use that to tell Ram there's a bigger problem. I personally wasn't planning on engaging the dealership over a temp gauge but perhaps it is a bigger problem.

I would agree, a poll is in order, if you put it on the truck it should work.

I can't say for sure about Chryslers logic, but the main purpose for this sensor is so the PCM has an idea of the ambient temp. IMO, an eight degree variance isn't a big deal when you're talking about engine related functions. I think they just display the info in the EVIC as a convenience without much regard to actual accuracy.

I can understand having it, im in the concrete industry and it makes a difference for us, but I never go off what my truck is saying for outside temp. Can i ask what you do that you require and exact measurement? and can you company pay for a small weather station? and is it exactly 8 degrees different? if it is you should be able to still be able to do your job till a fix if there is ever one comes out

Seems like something that's easily addressed. I can get a more accurate reading off a stick on temp gauge. My 2012 was literally within 1 or 2 degrees. 8 degrees is way too much...imagine if the speedo had the same acceptable tolerance

Here's another great Chrysler moment. Let me be a dealer for a moment. Here's the fix, "Well there are many occurrences of this issue therefore it is NORMAL." Chrysler and their dealerships are great with this as all new Ram owners will find out, if there is no dash light and other trucks do it than it's normal. The last time I checked normal and proper engineering/manufacturing were completely different. Keep fighting them on the issue, just cause it's normal doesn't mean its functioning properly.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Wow, sorry to hear that you guys are having issues with the dealer. I would like to think that they would be willing to fix that issue. Please let us know how things work out for you.....
