Default JBA shorty headers for 2500, or anyone that has done towing?

Hey guys, been reading up on the jba headers and am impressed with what i am seeing so far. Has anyone on here put them on a 2500? Also any of you guys that have them do you do towing?? I tow a 31ft 5th wheel and i wanna make sure that any mods i do will be ok for towing. I would get the ceramic coated ones to keep the temp down when towing. I think the headers would compliment my Corsa exhaust very well. Any advice would be appreciated.

I plan on buying a set once the weather gets better. They are now CARB certified so no emission inspection worries. JBA recommended to me the siver ceramic over the titanium due to the coating being a bit more durable. Especially if you live in an area that uses a ton of salt. The only issue I have read about is that the passenger side header is very close to the motor mount. Something about the 2500 engine sitting off center a little. Some guys have had to shim while others not so?? Several 2500 owners have these installed on the various forums. I see you just posted in the JBA thread.

I have the Corsa exhaust and do tow a large/extra tall snowmobile trailer. Do you have the Corsa or the DB system? The Corsa has the dual tips and is 304 stainless. The DB has a single tip and is 409 stainless.

I have the Corsa 304ss system with the dual tips, and love it! Did not want the db. How loud is yours pulling your trailer? i have not pulled mine yet with my exhaust.

I went with the Corsa for the quality stainless and the double wall tips over the DB. We went on a 1,700 mile trip towing and had no drone. Really satisfied with the system overall. Fit and finish is excellent, quality parts, and clamps. The only issue was on the install, getting the stock pipe off at the front. Ended up having to cut the factory mid pipe as the crush clamps had it stuck on there pretty good. Even tried a pipe separator tool and had no joy. But it wasn't going to be used again anyway. Too bad they didn't use the band clamps like on the 1500's. Would of been a lot easier.

One thing I want to do yet is reinstall the heat shield that was on the original muffler. It was held on by 2 thin band clamps that were not reusable. The shield seems to fit the new muffler just fine so I bought a couple of long bandclamps on Ebay to do the reinstall. Just been crappy weather. There was a tiny bit of heat in the bed on our trip so figured it couldn't hurt. Not sure what it was like stock as the system was installed when the truck was basically new. Got these ones, hope they are long enough. Bought 2 extra so can double up if need be.

Towing I found that 5th gear seemed to be the best. 6th bogged too much so holding 5th max seemed to work the truck a lot less. And that is with 4.10's. How much does your 5th wheel weigh? Did you get the 4.10's?

I contemplated getting the headers all summer but waited for the CARB cert since they do a visual inspection here, didn't want any inspection issues. Now it is a non issue since they are certified.

There was a guy on here that installed the headers on his 2500 and took a lot of pictures and did a writeup. Here is the link, post #48. Just send him a PM and he will email you the info. Real nice guy!

All i have herd about bbk is that the ports do not line up, also the jba are not a bad price at all.

I have not! Saving my pennies for the ARH long tubes, from what I have read the shorties are only showing around 9 HP increase were as the long tubes show 30 HP increase. I know the ARH are pricey, but that's better performance.
