Default Possible owner of an 08 Hemi

Hello everybody, first off, thanks for any tips/advice in advance. Second, great site so far!

The Ford dealer by my house recently got a 2008 Black quad cab 1500 in, and I fell in love. They had a red one awhile back, but it was a 2006 or 2007, and just drove like crap.

I love the way these trucks look, and they seem to have pretty good word of mouth reviews. I do hear tons of people say that they are just terrible trucks, trans' fails at low miles, tons of electrical problems, etc. That scares me.

Im a Ford guy from a Ford family, but prefer the newer Rams to the F150's any day.

This truck is spotless inside, outside, and under. Havent seen under the hood yet, but im sure its clean too.

It has 59k miles, 5.7 Hemi, and the Big Horn package. They have it stickered at I believe $19,995, and that seems about normal for this model year in my area, and actually almost 3k below KBB which surprised me.

I dont have any pictures yet, but im thinking about going for a test drive today. I work out of state, and its about a ~50 mile round trip, 48 of those miles being highway, the MPGs are a little low, but I need something better for work, at least in this rough winter. (I currently have a Crown Vic LX Sport with street tires...its even slick driving in rain).

I was leaning more towards an Excursion, Explorer, etc but this truck caught my attention so hard.

Any advice on what to look for, ask about, etc? What are the common problems with these trucks? Thanks!

The Hemi is a great motor..It will live a long happy life if you keep it serviced. The 545 rfe is a good trans just keep it serviced. They can at times have electrical gremlins but these days don't they all.
Drive it and love it.They really are sweet trucks.
