Thanks for all the replies.

Yes, I got the pricing worked out but still have negotiate the out-the-door price. I know that’s for later when it arrives. Talked to the dealer about 10 minutes after my original post (still feel weird about that), and she told me the vin # and that the order is D status. Now the waiting patiently starts, definitely something I need to work on.

Ordered a western brown two tone longhorn with Hemi 8-speed, and it comes with the RA4 radio. I test drove a couple of 6-speed longhorns with a Hemi, and I just think the improvements are well done. Air ride suspension was nice and an improvement over the springs, especially on the crappy Michigan roads. The interior is very nice and the real wood trim is a nice touch. I’m a wood worker as a hobby and I just like it.

No laser etched seats though, that’s a bit much.

Cheers,

I was looking at photos of a Western Brown Longhorn on Ebay this morning. That's a really sharp looking truck.

how much did you haggle down to? if you don't mind me asking....

I am looking to order a Longhorn this month too, and to be honest I never bought a new car before, much less ordered one...

Hi I am aslo ordering the 1500 longhorn would you be able to pm what you paid for it versus sticker. Thank you for helping out a potential ram owner!

The only thing we have left to haggle over is trade-in and the deal isn't hinging on whether I trade in my truck to them or not.

It sounds like you have no money or paperwork into it so I would just tell them that if you don't get a confirmation order sheet from them, you're going to be putting the order in with another dealer. The last thing you want to do is wait for 2 months and then have him call you up one day and say that there was a problem with your order but he has another one a lot like it that you'll really like...

You should be able to negotiate the price prior to it arriving. Prices should be known by both parties. Did you place a deposit? It is common for people to pay "invoice" minus holdback. This doe not include incentives. Ordering it your name should guarantee current rebates and if they improve by the time your truck arrives then you should get the improved rebate. I ordered my Outdoorsman AFTER we negotiated the price for built truck I wanted. It included all fees, taxes, etc.

On my almost completely loaded Longhorn I got about $6K off of MSRP before incentives are applied. I had another dealership come in for a little over $1K more, right around invoice. That was more in line with what I was expecting but the first dealer made an offer I couldn't refuse.

Cheers,
Just following the thread and I just have a quick question. You recieved your VIN # 10 minutes after you ordered the truck. I ordered a 13 Longhorn on January 10 and still havent received my VIN #????

Just wondering if anyone else any issues with this. I am hoping to get it this week. Maybe I need to be more patient.....

Thanks,

Ed

I'm thinking he meant VON, not VIN.

You guys are reading it wrong. He posted that 10 minutes after he asked the question on here, the dealer called and gave him the VIN. Not 10 minutes after he ordered.
