Default Okay to tint?

Just purchased a new Ram and had set up an appointment to get the front windows tinted (driver/passenger). I set up an appointment for tomorrow but was just told by a coworker that he believed new rams have dual layer thermal glass and that window tint could cause the Windows to crack. Anyone have info on this or if they in fact have tinted wo any problem? I tried the search but only found posts about tint darkness.

Just look at your driver window, at the bottom near the door lock pin, it will be marked what your window is, The DOT whatever is where the glass was made, if it says Laminated or LAMINATED GLASS, then you have that. 90% of the time it will be a regular safety Tempered Glass. As far as I have found, Only the Laramie had this option at one point.

Thanks for the link. I did a Google search and can only come up with the same exact post in 3 different forums. I can't find any information on the dual layer glass problems anywhere else. I would think there would be a wider spectrum of info on the Web for issues like this if it was true. Basically checking if anyone here has a new Ram they had tinted and if they had any first hand experience

Great info I took a look at the glass, and only says 'Mopar dot 904 pgw m505', and nothing about laminated so should be good to go

If you're going to a tint shop then they'll be using a quality product and if they know anything about tinting they can tell you what type of glass you have. Unless it's a really shady business, you'll get the right stuff for your windows.

You should be fine. I tinted mine right after purchase, as I got it as part of the deal and I haven't had any issue thus far.
