Default Coolant leak but no over heating

So on my way back to work after lunch today I started to smell a strong scent of coolant. As I parked I could smell it but saw nothing leaking and I didn't have time to conduct a thorough check. So afterwards as I'm waking back out I notice a very small puddle underneath the truck (2002 qc 4.7) so I open the hood and notice faint splash marks.. I couldn't remember if I hit a small puddle or not.. So I closed her up and headed home watching the gauge just in case.. And nothing... I took the highway, I turned the a/c on and it stayed normal. Well when I got home and looked again and now it was soaked underneath! Mostly on the drivers side front, I checked all hoses and found no leaks. I went and drove some more and no overheating issues. I checked my overflow and the fluid had started to descend. Long story short after checking for leaks for an hour and finding nothing I started her up and looked and saw my clutch fan wobbling. So I believe it's leaking from the water pump now, but before I head out to buy a new pump I figured i could here some other opinions.. Is this normally how the water pump goes bad? Could it actually leak like that but not overheat? And would it be safe driving 20-25 miles a day until sat?

4.7 water pump failure is fairly common and you have all the symptoms. Go ahead and get a new pump.

Replaced the pump yesterday all is well again. Actually much smoother idle now, must have been going bad for awhile. Thanks.
