Default Steering Box replacement

Looks like I am in need of a steering box to help relieve some of the slop in my steering. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. This is not my daily driver but my hunting/playing truck. Can anyone offer any advice on the following;

Type of box Budget wise and performance wise.

Tips for the install plan to do it myself.

Also has anyone used one of those aftermarket braces that bolts under the sway bar and offers additional support to the bottom of the steering box. I understand that it will help the steering by reinforcing the front-end reducing frame flex etc.

Thanks in advance!

If you don't mind me asking...what kind of issues are you having with it?

its easy, 6 bolts and its off then put new one in. stock is fine unless you are lifted or have big tires. when reinstalling tho, hold gearbox in place, slide bolt thru frame, attach steering input and put the rest of the bolts in after. the input has to go in with the gearbox unmounted unless you want to do more work. price is $155 at oreillys and a $30?? core i think. just replaced mine two months ago cause the seal blew out
