Default Headlight in Intrument Panel

I know that when you turn the headlights on that depending on your setting the lights on the dash will dim. However when I turn on my headlights there is no headlight light on the instrument panel. I see the headlight where it should light up on the instrument panel but it never comes on. When I turn my fog lights on a light comes on in the instrument panel.
My wife's 2011 Grand Caravan has a similar dash and lighting system but the van has a headlight light on the panel that comes on when the headlights are turned on.
Anyone else experience this? Just think it is strange that I can where it would light up but it does not.
Cheers

Default Headlight light

I don't think mine has a headlight light on the instrument panel, guess I could go look quick. There is one for the high beams, fog lights, and cargo light, but don't think there is for low beams(normal headlight)

I have a lower trim model Express. There is no indicator for "Headlights on" on my dash display. (As stated, bright indicator, and fog lights.) I usually run them in "auto" mode, and when I first got the truck, I had no idea if they were on or not when it was raining, but maybe too bright to actuate the auto mode. So now I just keep the fogs on and when the auto actuates, I see the dash "fog" indicator. But I've always thought there should be a "low beam indicator light" as well.

From 2009-2012 there is no headlight on indicator. The only way you can tell is if you can see the road at night! Yes there are fog light, cargo, high beam, and other indicators.

They did not add the headlight on indicator until 2013.

There is no headlight ON indicator. The 3 headlight shaped indicators in the cluster are the one for the Fog Lights, the Cargo Light, and High Beams. Look in the owner's manual to see their location.

Wow, somebody actually requesting a dummy light. That's a first. Good driving anf safety practice is to have your lights on all the time anyway, why would you want an annoying light to tell you they are on?

Default Must have forgot

I looked closely at the panel, and on the right hand side near the 4x4 light there is a place for the headlight and when you shine a flashlight on it you can see that they put it in the cluster but must have forgot the bulb behind it.
I live up north and find the auto lights go on and off in the morning as I drive in and out of shadows. I've followed buddy's in RAM 2500 and the Auto lights go on and off as you drive in to a tree shadow.
I find that I have to leave the fog lights on all the time anyway as the headlights are not bright enough in the pitch black of night for times when I cannot use the full-beam.
Guess I am just used to having a vehicle with no dash lights when the lights are off.
Cheer guys!
