Default Who is Waiting for the Crew with 6'4 Box?

When I first started looking for a 2013 RAM Laramie I definitly knew I needed the 6"4 box. At first I was looking at a Quad with 6"4 box. But do like the added room of the Crew. I was also wanting the Hemi 8-speed combo. knowing that production on that wasn't till early March I decided (well actually the other half persuaded me) to wait another month ot so for when the Crew with 6'4 box starts production.

I'm a pretty patient guy and said I'm not in a rush as long as I get what I want. I'm one who keeps my vehicals for a long time 7+ years atleast. I know I will be able to place my order within the next 2-3 weeks butI'm getting wrestless.

So is their anyone else in the same boat as me or did you cave in and went with whats available now.

BTW I been waiting since last April when I first laid eyes on the 2013 Ram

I was waiting on the 6 4 bed but ended up going with the 5 7 since camping season is around the corner and the 6 4 would never be available in time.

I'm waiting. Not just until I can order, either. I'm waiting until they are on the lot to test drive and negotiate. A 5'7" box just won't work for me, would make the truck almost useless as a truck - for me. But I really don't want a quad cab either, I've had one before (with an 8' box) and it was okay, but I liked the crew cab I had much better. I really like the mega cab I'm driving right now, but I'll be okay going back to a CC. Just can't see myself ever going back to a QC though.

So, anyway, really want a CC, really need at least a 6'4" bed (actually wish I could get a CC w/8' box like my '04.5 CTD was...). Has to be 4x4, of course. May as well be a Hemi/8 speed. I basically want every option except air ride, either a Laramie or Longhorn. Won't buy until I can test drive one just like that. May even end up waiting for either year end prices on '13s or getting a '14... Heck, I MAY even end up getting an F150, price is really the only reason I haven't bought one of them already.

Waiting to order a Sport crew w/ 6'4, 8 speed and air suspension. If I cannot get the exact truck I want, I will not be ordering. Read somewhere that ordering may begin the last week of February with production starting either March 15 or April 15. If something is on restriction I'll have my dealer check daily to see if the exact order I want will be able to get put through ... and if it looks like my '13 will get ordered so late that the arrival is September/October ... forget it, I'll go somewhere else (F150) or order a '14 I guess (but that wouldn't be great incentive-wise at all...)

I'm still waiting. If I knew what the GVWR was going to be, maybe I wouldn't need to be waiting. If they don't at the very least compensate for the added weight of the longer bed, then I should be looking at Ford instead or perhaps the 2014 GM trucks; both offer or will offer longer bed length crew cabs than the Ram.

I did hear it may be slightly higher GVWR just not sure by how much. My guess would be 6900lbs. I'm hoping it does have a higher GVWR even if it is an extra 100lbs

I'm told mid to end of Feb. So within the next 2-3 weeks order banks will open for the crew with 6'4 box.

A few years back when Ford first came out with the longer bed in the F150 supercrew, GVWR stayed the same and it added another 100-150 lbs to the curb weight. I noticed that it's different today and their GVWR's are like 150 lbs more on the long bed supercrews to make up for the additional curb weight.
