Rock Slide Engineering had some for a while. I haven't seen them on the sight recently, but they could still make them. I would give them a call.

They are body mounted, but all one piece to spread the load out equally, I have used similar before with good results (they are a lot stronger than you would guess). The upside is they tuck up literally to the body so almost no loss of clearance.

These are the ones they were making. I actually liked them a lot, almost bought a set. Never heard anything bad about them, just most truck owners don't play in the rocks, they leave that to the jeeps.

Steel yes...attach to the frame, no. The attach to the body on about 30 points. As a one piece design they function by spreading any impact load over the entire length of the cab. They are much stronger than most people would guess, not quite as strong as frame mounted, but pretty damn close.

We had a set of rails that worked that way on an XJ years ago, the XJ of course is unibody but the rocker panels are not structural. Rails were like angle iron but more like 110 degreens _/ instead of 90 degrees, a dozen or so holes along each face of it and a bag full of self-tapping bolts. I don't think they were strong enough for constant use as a pivot while trying to drag the vehicle through Arizona canyons but definitely strong enough to take the occasional hit.

Similar is probably true on our trucks, still not going to try to shove a fullsize through Dusy Ershim but a little cosmetic protection would be nice. I had looked into buying "weld it yourself" frame mount rail kits for a Land Cruiser or something else with the same length rocker panels.. still might some day. Nobody's likely to make anything for single cab short beds since almost nobody buys those.

Exactly! My JK on 37's was tight thru Dusy Ershim, no way I would take a full size. They would definitely be nice for a trip out to Slick Rock or Moab though, even if just to have a spot to use the hi-lift on.
