Default Who's traded their HEMI for the EcoDiesel?

Just like the title states. Who had a HEMI 1500 and has traded for the EcoDiesel 1500? Why did you do it? Do you regret it or is it better for you?

I have a 2012 Express that Ive done a few mods too and love the power but Im really considering trading for the better fuel mileage. I was going to trade anyways here in the near future to get more options than the express. I barely tow anymore and still could with the 3.0L. Just not sure I was to give up my power or if I can eventually tune the 3.0L to put a smile on my face! But I suppose that is what I have my S2000 for.

Just let me know your thoughts and comments. Even if you haven't done it yet and you are considering.

Couple of my local dealers have a couple in stock so I may go give one a look.

I haven't yet but am wondering the same thing. I looked at a limited with the Eco diesel and it is one sharp truck. I have a friend who would buy my hemi but man 2 more years and this truck is paid off so the stealer would have to make me a helluva deal.

I have a 2009 Ram 1500 QC HEMI, it gets 17.4 MPG Highway under perfect conditions

I drive a minimum of 20,000 miles a year

I am seriously considering buying a 2015 Ram QC Eco Diesel that should get at least 25 MPG

Tomorrow Ram is going to make a announcement & take questions about the 2015 Ram Brand

Tentative 2015 Ram Factory Ordering will be August 8th
First 2015 Ram Factory Build date will be in October, again that is tentative

Well I went and drove one after work today. Only one they had was a limited model which of course was extremely nice and load. Had a sticker of 56k and said they would do 49k. Probably won't be the model I get but you never know.

The drive was very smooth and tranny shifted like butter. The power wasn't my hemi with a tune but not the end of the world. I really feel the ecodiesel will get my business since it had decent power, incredible fuel mileage, and can still tow a decent amount.

My hopes are they will come out with a tuner for it and wake it up like tuners do bigger diesel engines. We shall see I suppose.

Actually, Gale Banks did have some input into designing the Ram Eco Diesel engine

He also has taken the finished engine into his shop & did his kind of tinkering to see what could be done Performance wise

i'm considering trading my 010 hemi on an 014 ED. don't need a new truck, just want one(and want more room, reg cab -->quad cab). out of my 3 choices(ecoboost, hemi sport, and ED) the ED is the cheapest just going off advertised price. going to do some test driving when i get back home.

I haven't and don't intend to trade the Hemi for the Ecodiesel. I do like reading the test drives by members here and think the engine was a great idea by Ram. Keep the reports coming.
