Default HID Lights

I installed hid lights in my stock headlights. They look badass, but they don't project nearly far enough. I have adjusted them and it helped a little but I believe the culprit behind my problem is in my stock headlights. There's something that blocks off my lights immediate projection forward. I need a way to remove this or if that is in fact my problem. I am attaching a picture. I have managed to knock it out from in front of my bulb but not completely remove it.

you would benifit from a set of retrofitted lights, lowbeam output is close and nice but highbeam is awesome and throws a good distance ahead

I believe you are right! A retrofitted set is the way to go. I've done quite a bit of research on converting my quads to HID; but now I won't just slap in some HID kit, I will get the retrofit kit with the lenses and have a proper set-up, that actually uses the light provided by HID.
