It sounds like 2013 harnesses are different than the 09-12 mentioned in the instructions and perhaps the fifth pin needs to be used. If we already have a 2013 truck, is an led tail light not plug and play?

They are not plug and play and I hope no one has misunderstood this.

In order to eliminate the bulb out issue load resistors need to be wired in as well as new harness pigtail as the connectors are different.

To remove a pin:
1.) Remove rear cap with a pick or small flathead:

2.) Remove rubber insert:

3.) Lift up on blue connector retainer with a pick:

4.) Insert small flathead or allen key to release plastic pin retainer.

5.) Remove wire.

6.) Re-insert wire to correct location.
So, if I understand this correctly.. this Step 4.1 is only necessary if you get wiring harnesses from a junkyard?

If I get the wiring harnesses from Mopar Parts Online, this step can be omitted?? The pins will be where they need to be without having to move, remove them on the harnesses from MPO?

Ok, ordered all my parts... oh man am I excited and nervous. Let me just say ordering fuel injector connectors to make lights work is odd.

After having gathered all parts listed and successfully installing the 13 tails on my 12, I thought I'd report back that the question I posted previously is correct. If you purchase the Mopar harnesses, that step is skipped.

^^ is correct - with junkyard harnesses, you'll need to move the pins. If you buy the harness new, you can skip those steps.

Sorry guys - I don't get on this forum much anymore. No time.

Does someone have these pigtails pre-assembled, and what kind of cost are we talking about?

Nope gotta build them yourself, its really not that hard. Cost you're looking at about $70, most everything you can buy off amazon.
