Hahahaha...too funny

OP, have you tried turning the steering wheel slightly? I know on cars with standard keys, this is what will allow you to remove the key

Has anybody tried filing down the humps on the key Fob? Just wondering if doing that would ruin the fob. This hasn't happened to me yet, but I think if it happened too often I would try filing those down taking the chance. I could see how that would piss me off if I was in a hurry to get out of the truck and go when the key was stuck in the ignition.

according to the manual the key fob will stay locked in the ignition if the battery is low. for me the only times it's happened is if I don't fully put the shifter in park (2x's in yr).

personally I would not resort to filing anything down as I'm sure the replacement key is quite expensive and if the key fob is staying in for any other reason I'd take it in to the service dept.

maybe I'm just to paranoid that I'd screw something up and the key would just fall out as I'm heading down the road.

Post #1 from OP and hasn't been on since. You would think that being so heated about the key getting stuck and being ready to trade it in for a GM, this person would be avidly watching for responses.

Maybe he's got those belt key chains and is stuck in his truck, can't remove his FOB
