I'm sure it's a good question fast, if you say, but I have no idea what "uncorrected" means?

Did you correct you speedo to compensate for the larger tires?
Your speed will say you're traveling 60mph when in fact you are traveling 65mph (example)
This is uncorrected and this will also give you incorrect gas mileage readout or calculations

Okay Ive never seen that term used before and it is indeed a great question.

Which also NEVER occured to me! Duh! What a dumbass!

I had a SuperChips tuner on my Ford with the same tire/wheel combo which was purchased and installed as a package so those numbers were correct from day one.

But you're absolutely correct! Without a corrected/calibrated speedometer to compensate for the changes, then none of my hand-calculated MPG figures mean squat. Certainly not a fair comparison to the previous setup.

I'm scrapping the whole thing and just enjoying the truck. I'll instead give a brief review on the ride of the Bilsteins 5100 package.

Apologies for the unintentional run-around.

Take [the truck's appearence] it for what it is....

Hey Grub, no need to be hard heck, I forgot to ask you as well.
If you need a tuner for some performance and to calibrate those wheels, you know where to go

Just take the milage that you traveled according to your odometer and multiply by 1.0572. Then divide by the numbers of gallons that you purchased. Easy correction based on the difference in specs between the stock tires of 275/60r20 and 315/60r20. You will find that you actually lost less MPG than you thought since you traveled a further distance.

Yeah, you know I like to think I cross my t's and dot my i's most of the times, but it never occured to me [for a second] to compensate my speedo in light of the changes. I'm glad it's come up now because my review in a few days on the MPG would have mislead people and that wouldn't have sat well with me.

I gave the original poster who surface it earlier, rep points for an excellent question indeed.

Ah well, live-n-learn, right?

Yeah, I appreciate the heads-up on the tuners and if SuperChips doesn't come out with a tuner by the end of Spring, I'm dropping you a line bud..... promise!

Cheers.

Thanks. Didn't mean to cause trouble I'm just curious. At least we may save you a speeding ticket now that you know it's a few % off.

I will say this though: a forum member claims he is working with S&B Intakes' technical department designing a "new & improved" Scoop for our trucks, so that may be worth the wait. I have no reason to doubt his claims, but....

I'm calling my contact at S&B Intakes tomorrow to find out it's authenticity and, if so, an ETA on its release.

I'll post an update tomorrow.
.

I talked to S&B today , have to talk to tech tomorrow , they are just down the road from me when I am in SoCal....they are just down from Ontario Speedway I was planing on picking one up Friday...thanks for the heads up
