I have been watching this Thread and hope all will be figured out with Clifford17's truck. I dont mean to steal your thread but since we are on the subject in here..............

Should a guy like me who wants to install driving lights behind the grill and throw on a flowmaster 40 be hesitant now??? Im reading how minor mods are putting our trucks out to pasture here is kind of got me thinking.....

If not, what steps should we all take to be sure something like installing a light or muffler or whatever doesnt't go frying out anything. Simple as disconnecting the battery during install?

Clifford17 keep us posted.

I wish I could just deal with the techs over the service writers, they drive me nuts.

You should be fine installing exaust, and yes disconnecting the battery is a good idea anytime you do anything with the electrical system. this should not make you afraid to modify your truck. just be cautious and if you don't know what you're doing let the pro's handle it!

I went to school with some of the guys from Mall of GA when our training center was combined with the GM center in Alpharetta and they didn't impress me as being terribly bright with the exception of one technician.

And when you do wiring it would be smart to disconnect battery but make sure every thing is hooked up right grounds are good and dont just twist and tape solder them together

Ya the service writer there has got a major ego problem but they were only one with an r/t when i was looking. But 2 good things about palmer they are really nice and only 15 mins from my house. Never even knew they were there

My service writer did not know about the 2009 Ram tailgate & apparently the Parts Dept computer images are not the best, I wanted a tailgate locking mechanism & back up camera.
The service writer grabbed a camera & we went to a Laramie out in the sales lot, he took off the Inspection Panel, took several pictures of the inner mechanism, as he was doing that the Parts counter guy came out too. We all learned something that day & i got all the correct parts.
When the parts came in, the Service Writer took time to install everything into the tailgate & then a tech took over & ran the rest of the camera wiring.
I have no real complaints about my dealership, but i don't know about the New Express Lane section that was recently opened. I watched as one of the guys used a air wrench to tighten the lug nuts on another guys Ram, that customer was very irritated as we watched it happening, there was a lot of LOUD cussing going on
