Default 1998 Ram 5.9 won't run.

I cannot get my 1998 5.9 to run. Has 29000 miles on it. It spins but won't fire. I get 1/2 inch spark at the spark plugs. Looks like a strong spark. Have tried spraying fuel into throttle body. Plugs look clean and gapped abt .040. Was thinking fuel pump but engines with bad fuel pumps I can get to momentarily run by spraying fuel into intake.

I am a GM mechanic and this one has me stumped. Basically has spark and fuel but won't fire.
Thanks, Dennis

Pulled spark plug wires off sparkplug and can get a spark from plug wire with a screwdriver to jump about 1/2 inch max at spark plug wire end?????
Checked for OBDII codes and there are no codes showing!

Check the Crank Position Sensor. I've heard of people having the same problem with good fuel and spark.

Dennis,
Look at my post I made on 2/25 on a 1999 1500 P/U wont start. The crank shart postion sensor is a parts store part. The Cam and solenoid are dealer parts. The cam is in the distributor cap under the rotor. The solenoid on mine is on the passenger side inner fender wall near the front. This e-bay listing has a couple of photos.
