Nevermind… just spent a couple dollars more and got the Magnaflow cat back kit #16869 for $534 to my door… figured I'd do it right the first time.

Keep in mind the DODM80 is a muffler delete so it is very aggressive. However, You can cruise the highway with no overkill drone in your cab. Very cool setup. Definitely worth checking out.
The Mufflex website states that the drone suppression pipe isn't designed to work with the DODM80 setup. How did you install yours?

Exactly my question.....I have the DODM80 and a guy at Mufflex specifically said it would NOT work to calm down the drone. I would gladly get it if someone could confirm that it works with the DODM80.

Another overpriced Mufflex Product, sorry.
But you could get something made at a local shop for cheaper

I've been all over the net looking for some info on if this will work with straight pipes or not on the Hemi. The answer is that it will work on the guys who yank their mufflers off their Pontiac G8's and they are notorious for drone so I'm tempted to spend the cash on it. If it doesn't, I can always just use it with my DOD14 if I ever reinstall it.

Do you guys have an update on this?

My buddy as the 14" and it sounds great except when the MDS kicks in and it makes you want to stick a ice pick in your ears. It is why I have not ordered on yet.

This is basically a side branch resonator or 1/4 wave resonator or Hemholtz Chamber. They've been around for a long time and they do work. However it is important to get the right length for your situation. If it is too long or short, it won't eliminate the drone and in fact it can move it higher into the rev range where you will hear it more frequently. You can get a muffler shop to fab one up for you for less than a couple hun. You can either do the complicated formula to figure out the length you need or just start w something like a 32" pipe and see if it works. If not, you keep going back and have an inch or two cut off at a time. Since Mufflex only charges $165 for it, it's a good deal as long as you're running the 14, 18, or 24" muffler. I'm going to grab one of these soon since I'm running an 18" Magnaflow muffler.
