I wonder if that counts for the days the dealer actually has the vehicle?
The parts were ordered about 4 weeks ago and still havent came, Ive
had it at the dealer twice, and a total of 9 days at the dealership, but
ive been waiting for parts much longer.

Your vehicle must be out of service. It the parts you are waiting for are minor accessories and allow you to use the truck then those nine days don't count. The next time you go to the dealer and get a service invoice for the same problem three times your are qualified to file. After filing you must allow a forth and final attempt by them to repair the problem.

In my case I wait for parts several times but didn't want to leave the truck at the dealer. If I would have done that I would have met the 30 day out of service and would not have needed an arbitration hearing. In those cases Chrysler sometimes makes a buy back offer to avoid recall documentation which is public record.

See thats where the problem comes in, Its not out of service. It runs fine, shifts hard
once in a while, and Ive had the push button start not work properly. But the big issues
are not putting the vehicle out of service, they just irritate the hell out of you because
you pay so much for the thing to be the quality you expect when you make a big purchase.
And it turns out to have all kinds of issues that they are not in a hurry to fix. Very disappointing!

Wow, reading this 7 page thread has kind of scared me into not wanting to get a 2013 Ram.
I've been holding out to see how well the 8 speed auto will perform and whether it would be financially smart to then negotiate a killer deal on a remain 6 speed 2013 and save thousands of $ over the 8 speed versions.
But this thread has got me thinking I should run over to the Ford dealer and get that
remaining Ford FX2 with Ecoboost engine that has an MSRP of $42k that they are telling me they'd sell me for $29.5k ($12,500 off MSRP).
It has like 35 miles on the odometer, and has one small door ding on the driver's side rear door that probably happened by the lot attendant or a customer being careless.

Or my other option is waiting on the new 2014 Silverado and the new 5.3 to see how much power and fuel economy it has.
But getting a 1st year car/truck with a first year engine may bring lots of headaches too.

Seems very strange to me, almost every thing wrong with the 2013 has something to do with the radio

where do you make your air suspension settings ? the radio
almost everything mentioned has something that is controlled through the radio
Almost the whole electronics system uses the radio as the main link
temperature controls, memory functions, etc

Blame harman kardon & the Chrysler mobile communications engineers

I say if you have an 8.4 with problems keep calling their customer service.
The case managers they set you up with are worthless, you can
Hardly understand them and they just tell you that they are working to assist
You.. But nothing gets done.. I asked my case manager why it
Was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase that these systems have had
Problems and she got real quiet.. I filed a complaint with the BBB against
Chrysler LLC.

You can and should file for Lemon Law if the vehicle went back to the dealer (you have a copy of the service invoice) three times to fix a problem that remains unresolved. The vehicle does not have to be out of service. That only counts towards the 30 day out of service in two years. If they can't fix the problem on the forth attempt (after filing lemom law papers) you get the choice of a new vehicle or a cash refund. It costs nothing but a stamp and a few photo copies.

I'm pretty sure lemon laws are different depending on the state.

I'm not surprised there are issues with the radio, it all runs on software and it's a fairly new architecture. The flashing of the component versions will be important in getting the whole thing to work right....while the radio is no longer just a radio but an information center it "listens" to the messages getting sent from multiple subsystems. I would love to hook into the architecture and see what else it's doing and what other information it's passing around (and who it's passing it too.) Any known connections to this yet?

I don't think the radio can "bring down the truck" but the truck can certainly "bring down the radio" ... at least that is the theory.
