Default Full bolt ons, whats next???

Hey everyone, im new here but i use this forum all the time. so big question is whats next for performance? i would love to put a nice cam in but problem is no one out there has successfuly maped out the 2012 ecu for tuning with a cam. called around everywhere and got the same answer, "were working on it". Same goes for ported heads, throttle body etc.. im lost on what to do next. i want aggressive sound with power gains accross the whole band but still able to tow if needed. any suggestions?

1st question; What is your goal and plans for the truck? A pure dragstrip truck or a fun street truck? Either way forced induction and/or nos will be the safest bang for the buck.. These engines are already built/tuned pretty good from the factory. As for cams, the VVT is giving you the best of all around performance. I doubt you could get a custom set of cams for these engines that will be "daily driver friendly" You could do a stroker engine and use the older 2010 ecm if I am not mistaken. Of course the spray would be the cheapest route, but if I had 5-6 grand for play money it would go towards a blower.

Save yourself a boatload of money and put a lot of stickers that say " turbo " or green flames on it.

Works for all the hyundai's and honda's around my neck of the woods.

If you do want to go the cam route, the comp cams out right now have shown some gains when coupled with the phase limiter, you just have to determine where you want your power band because you're not limited like you were with the non-eagle cams. If you really wanted to, you can have valve reliefs put into the pistons and not worry about the phase limiter and still run big lift cam without needing to be terrified about your ptv clearance. If you did a cam you'd need to do custom tuning with someone that knows what they're doing, like hemifever, white lightning, or Johan, that's unless you are near any of the SoCal hemi builders.

A set of ported heads will also give you a very nice boost and all of the builders have great port profiles. I have a set of ported Arrington heads and they have been very good to me.

Forced induction is always fun, and there are a few centrifugal kits right now, but if you want a positive displacement style you'll be waiting for a bit since the ram isn't their best market compared to the LX platforms.

yes ive researched arrington and also talked to them. HHP offers 3 variations of the comp cams with phase limiter but when i talked to one of the techs there he said they havent fine tuned any of those cams in a 2011+ hemi. they are working on alot of stuff ATM so im going to have to wait. i was considering porting and beefing up the heads but tuning will be an issue. all the parts right now have only been tuned and tested for 09-10 hemis. unfortunate for us newer hemi owners as well as ram owners we are going to have to wait. however forced induction might be my first route until everything else is worked out this year.

Just remember, forced induction needs just as much tuning as any other mod.
