My biggest fear when looking at the OBX is the welds, almost all of the ones I've ever seen have the tell-tale signs of stainless welded with carbon rod/wire, there's the discoloration, and if they're coated, it's just hiding the fact. I know my ARH headers were welded with stainless rod based on the color uniformity of the welds. The down side to using carbon rods on stainless is you've now introduced material into the stainless that can rust, so even though the tubing is stainless, you can still rust at the welds.

I'm also not a fan of the OBX y-pipe, it's not a bad setup, but it's not optimized for flow compared to the ARH, which you can see runs parallel before merging rather than having to turn a 90 degrees at the same time as blending, creating a more turbulent flow, which reduces your exhaust velocity.

ARH:

i got 599 in mine shiped to the door. all my stuff is custom so no obx y for me.

OBX headers are not comparable to the ARH headers....OBX is not bad b looking no further then the collector's and its over......ARH uses merge collectors and you have 2into1,2into1 and 2into1 instead of all 4 getting wrapped into a collector......same with the y-pipe which also has scavenging spikes built into it....jm2c

Yeah, but the OBX headers are $600 bucks on Ebay. The price alone makes it worth it to me. I know a guy who dyno'd his camaro 6.2 with a cam, obx full exhaust, tune, and made 486 rwhp, so they can't be THAT bad.

i just looked at a pic of some ARH and thier collector looks like mine. all four primarys are welded in the collector. now they might have a longer collector or something. other then that merge collector just sounds like a fancey name to get your attention. who knows maybe im not seeing what their talking about.
