Default Has my truck been lifted?

Hi, I purchased a 98 1500 4X4 and was looking to level the ride. I measured the distance from the ground thru the middle of the tire to the top of the wheel well. The front is just about 37.5" and the rear 39.75".

Does this seem about right for stock? There is quite a bit of space between the top of the tire and the lip of the wheel well. I just bought this truck last summer, do you think it has been modified/lifted at all? How could I tell?

Thanks for reading

Looks stock, but would need to see a picture from the underside at lift locations

From the second picture I want to say it's not stock. but i'm not familiar with that year truck. What i DO know is...you need some bigger tires on that bad boy, those tires there look so tiny.

nice lookin ride tho!

Agreed on the tires, just getting into my truck; first one. Lots of things vying for my money, I can't replace the tires until these are used up. I use to spend all my money on my boat and motorcycle and my wife is non to happy I added a truck to the list.

I dont believe it has been lifted. Mine is an 01 of the same model. I'm pre sure, don't take my word on it as I'm not 100%, but I believe they just had a bit higher ground clearance right out of the factory.

Those look about stock height. The smallish stock tires kinda make it look bigger If I had a tape measure here, I'd measure my truck to compare even though mine sits up higher with the Offroad Package.

Here's mine as a reference with 33's and the OR package:

I think to get a closer idea you should measure from the center of the axle to the wheel opening lip. If you take it from the ground different size tires will make a great difference in the measurements. I just measured mine both ways. Mine is bone stock with 285x70x17 tires. It has the offroad package too and the build sheet tells me there's 2 inch body lift with that. Being as mine also only has 26,000 miles I'm guessing its close to stock given its packages. From center of axle to wheel opening lip front is 25" and the rear is 27". From the ground to the lip mine is 39.5" on the front and 42" on the rear. Hope this helps!
