when you start beatin vettes and stangs from the gitgo at streetlights or the track, the shock value is worth it alone..I understand it's just a truck and I use it to tow my boat a few times a month with mine. All the little mods add up, by themselves yes, only a couple pony's, but in the big picture of motor mods, they all contribute...

I too was always lead to believe that the sole purpose of catalytic converters was from an emissions aspect and had zero value or direct correlation to any horsepower or MPG improvements/gains if deleted.

X3, Every car/truck myself and my father have removed cats from sounded and performed an easy 20% better. A stock 94 Mustang 5.0 went from barely barking second gear to jumping sideways in 3rd with an off road X-pipe exhaust in place. Same results on two Camaros, one a 98' Z28, the other an 02 SS, screamed once the cats were removed. The 02 SS with 4.11 gears was down right scary for a street car and got 28 mpg avg!!!

IMO (might not be correct) in older vehicles with less computer control, removing the cats does improve performance and mileage substantially. But in new vehicles, just removing the Catalytic Converter WITHOUT a tune, or sensor fooler, you should see negative results. But i'm no expert so dont take my word for it, haha.

How do you gys without catalytic convertors pass emission laws?

Their removal is illegal in all 50 states.

Down here in the south they don't care or check!!! You pay your $10 and they just put a sticker on, no driving or even raising the hood...
