Default New truck- hail damaged roof

Had my Dodge1500 for two weeks and finally gave her a good bath. While drying the roof I found some pretty good hail damaged. I should not have to inspect what is considered to be a new truck like a used and pick it aprart. I know I've down signed the papers, but do I have any legal recourse? Not to mention we ain't had no rain in 3 weeks and no hail stones in over a year!

Had the exact scenario happen to me on a new Ford. Turns out it wasn't hail damage...it was from the detail shop and those guys putting their elbows and knees on the cab to clean, rather than use a step ladder and do it right. If you don't have hail damage in other places on the truck, I'd have the dealer take a look. If you approach it right, and they have had other complaints, they may fix it.

I already have a friend of mine suing Lythia Dodge at the moment for unauthorized repairs. His lawyer has them in a head lock. I will play it by ear. I just dropped $37,000 on a new truck and this really ticks me off.

call -- NATIONAL HAIL AND DENT -- they travel all over the country repairing hail damage -- they are awsome -- dont let the dealer tell you they have to replace the roof -- Ive personally seen these guy take out thousands of hail dings and make panels look like new .

maybe get a quote first -- make sure its worth it even to get a lawyer .

there are lots of paintless dent repair (PDR) guys around -- ask around who in your area is best ..

I called an attorney today. I figured I paid $37,000 a new undamaged truck and that's what I'm gonna fight for. I will keep you posted.

PDR outfits do a good job, repaired two of my vehicles in the past with $5-7000 in hail damage. You can always say it is a metal defect and pursue a warranty fix, if your dealer is not going to help you.

good luck with the attorny route -- but I think they are going to say , you took delivery , and there is no proof of when and where the damage came from .
