Default lower strut bolt seized inside bushing... need new LCA?

Today I tried to install my bilstein 5100's and failed miserably. I disconnected everything (swaybar endlink,UCA,tie rod) needed to get the strut out EXCEPT the bottom strut bolt that is housed in a bushin in the LCA. When I try to back the bolt out, the entire bushing rotates within the LCA. I've tried a ton of different things from pb blaster to impact driver and I CANNOT for the life of me get that bolt out. So, defeated, I had to put it all back together and obviously the front end is out of alignment.

Seeing how the bolt is seized inside the bushing, can I replace the bushing or do I need an entirely new Lower Control Arm?

i think he figured this out...i cant remember. on a different thread.

i used a sledge hammer and finally got it out but had to use a sawzall to cut the bushings out and replace them.

The struts are on, along with 2 new LCA's and a new pair of sway bar endlinks. Truck has 70k miles so I figured I might as well replace half the suspension lol

Thanks guys

what made you go with all new LCAs? instead of just changing the bushings

Here is the post from his other thread as to why he didn't just do bushings.

Thanks! I tried to do the bilsteins but ended up taking them to the dealer because the lower strut mount bolts were seized in the LCA. I was hoping they could get them out but they couldn't after over 5 hours of trying. I just ended up having them replace the whole control arms, even though Moog makes a replacement bushing. So looking back, I would have just bought the bushings and put them in myself but I already had so much $$ in the install that it would have been a waste to have them put it back together for me to do all of it!
