Default canister hose routing

I have a 97 ram 1500 magnum v8 5.9L. My problem is fuel smell at start and after turning off. Noticed canister hose below steering colum not connect to engine. My canister is on driver side. If you have photos of where the hose goes, please let me know. Thank you for help.
