Received a reply from Hypertech this morning and this unit should work with the 2013 Rams. They indicated that the most common cause of this complaint is the connector for the map being installed upside down. I tried to explain that the ears on the connector make this impossible but that is all they could suggest.

Not that it is mentioned anywhere in the instructions but the only portion of the Interceptor that can connect to the PC for updates is the throttle box. Since my problem isn't related to that I didn't see the point in going there.

I'll have another look at things tonight if I have the time but expect I will be exchanging it tomorrow.

Ran some tests on the unit at work and determined it was a defective board. Managed to exchange it for another this evening and installed it before I left the parking lot. No further problems.

So far I can say that throttle response is much improved which is to be expected. This is closer to what the truck should have felt like in the first place. Can't comment on power yet since I am running 89 octane and it is pulling timing under heavy loads. I will be doing a lot of driving this weekend so I will throw some of the good stuff in the tank and see how it does.

It seems that way. Bugged me that the tech support at Hypertech insisted it was a reversed connection (not possible without cutting plastic) rather than listening to what I had found but tech support is rarely perfect.

Performance wise this is a fun product. I will never be convinced that it produces the power shown in the Hypertech dyno chart but it is well worth the price paid for the fun factor. It is a bit faster but the main improvement is in how responsive it is. Fuel economy has been no less than 2 mpg higher than before with 3.55 gears. The bottom line, if you want fun as opposed to track times, it is worth every penny. If you want track times, get a converter or gears.

I can agree to this - I only bought it for gas mileage increase. So far it's minimal.

It's been going up, I'm a solid 17.1 MPG now. Highway mileage is in the 20's, city mileage is still crap but that's expected.

I have a 2000 mile road trip starting the 13th so I'm hoping for awesome mileage.

What did your numbers look like before? If you happen to remember.
