Well, I changed my mind and bought the Bully Dog Hemi Plus Tuner instead of the Hypertech Interceptor after taking a second look at all the tuners in this category....basically for stock engines. When I put my Kenne Bell Supercharger on it I'll put a BigStuff on it. Jeremiah (Discount Auto Performance) gave me a fabulous price on the Bully Dog and the Hypertech Interceptor but in the end I liked the easy plug in /out through the tuning port under the dash and Bully Dogs great tunes.

I know one thing for sure, anything I contemplate buying for my truck, I will now call Jeremiah (Discount Auto Performance) before I buy it, he has some great pricing and a lot more suppliers than I thought....Thx Again, Jeremiah

Chances are something like that will happen. The gain you guys are seeing may be from disconnecting the battery to install this (if that's how you guys installed it), it resets the adaptives in the PCM. Last year I made 3 runs in one night at the track, and the third run I picked up 3 tenths over the first two by resetting the computer.

Good choice, I'm really happy with the Bully Dog performance tune. It was worth it just for the improved transmission behavior. Curiousity also has me wanting to get a Diablo and a Hemifever tune once all my bolt on mods are done. Still waiting on those JBA long tubes.

We are all still waiting on the JBA's as soon as they are available everyone will know, maybe we can organize a pre order once we have a solid date

Thanks

I did not disconnect my battery when I installed the interceptor or since. I still can feel the gains. On another note a buddy of mine at work just bought a bully dog and has offered me to try it to compare. I may try it, but still leary of the ecm trace but if I do I'm gonna try it with the interceptor on and without.

I know this because a company can't advertise that their tuners arent detectable if they have been, and diablo openly does advertise this. Every other company would be jumping and calling bs for their claim if it Wasnt true.

Also it's been said by many diablo reps that they have never had a single incident reported.

And think about it, diablo has been around a long time, if this WAS an issue? You would certainly hear about it from people that got nailed. But you don't, all you ever see on forums is people asking if it does and never anyone ever stepping forward and saying its been an issue.

Thanks Joe.....ya I think I'll be very happy with the Bully Dog and apparently the tunes are really good. I've heard in some cases comparable to a custom tune or even better.

I eliminated the Diablo just because I have no requirement for custom tuning like air/fuel, timing that type of thing. If I was going to modify the engine to that extent, I would get a tunable computer.

Can't wait for it to get here and feel the difference it makes to my truck!

So that everyone knows, the Bully Dog tuner also eliminates all tracks just like the DiabloSport, it raises the access counter by 1 but leaves no tracks of what was done when the computer was accessed or what accessed it, for example if you check a code or clear a code this raises the counter by 1, no one really ever looks at this counter as it accessed so often by many different things. Hope this clears up some confusion on what leaves tracks and what doesn't. So far for the 2011-2012 rams there are 3 chips/tuners BD, DiabloSport and Hypertech, none of them leave any tracks and as long as you revert to the factory tune when going to the dealership to get work done they can't tell it was there.

On a side not all tuners are 17% off in our store right now check my signature for details

Thanks
Jeremiah

I removed my hyper tech for a dealer trip the other day and checked it for an update via USB. The software told me to call customer service, customer service informed me that I have to ship the unit back to them for a performance upgrade. In the meantime I just bought a trinity, as soon as I get my upgraded interceptor I will do some real world comparisons between the two.
