Cutouts are purely for noise unless you are making serious power, like mentioned before. An engine that is T/C or S/C would benefit greatly where as a N/A engine is going to loose power..I am pretty sure Fred races with his cutouts closed. Correct me if I am wrong Fred.
If I were you, I'd have a X or H pipe system custom made from mandrel bent 2 3/4" tubing and run two 14" Magnaflows the same size. That will give you plenty of room to grow if you decide to boost the truck later.

you are correct...when i run on motor only, I open the cutouts during the burnout (everone loves the sound)..then I close them for the run... I only open them when I'm spraying..

bracket racing..let off at the end so i wouldn't break out...

thanks, I love rollin up to the water box with the cutouts closed, my exhaust is very quiet at idle...as soon as I roll forward and engage the line lock, i open the cutouts and do the burnout and watch everyone all of a sudden turn their heads to see where that came from
