Default HUD vs Real World MPGs?

So far when I'm cruising down the highway doing 100km/h(60m/h), and i reset the HUD to see my l/100km and so far its reading between 8-11L/100km's(29-21 mpg), and I just keeping adding an extra Litre or 2 to make it more real world since the things a lie-o-meter, but what is everyone else getting? FYI its an Auto w/ 3.55 gears.

Default

I have never used the paper & pencil method of figuring MPG
It doesn't matter that much to me, i have what i have, '09 Ram 1500 QC 2WD 3.55 rear end
weight with all the tools in it, is 6300 pounds, curb weight was 5300 pounds at purchase

I get 17.4 MPG highway
