Anyone who has installed this, did you put in the extra tube than runs down to get more air? I see it is included with the kit, was wondering what people have done, use it or leave it... Thanks

I use mine, but will probably use the plug they sent just because I am nervous about it sucking up water. But right now it is open

I love the intake. As for performance gains...I have the SC 3865 and installed the 91 perf tune and what a difference. I just had a K&N drop and 14" Magnaflow in before without the tuner so the gains I feel are very noticeable. The intake sound really compliments the Magnaflow. I didn't get the additional scoop as the one for my truck points down towards the ground and IMO was not worth the extra $100. I have left it open for now. I may plug it in the summer. We will see.

Now if you had an older truck with a more restrictive air intake, then I would say yes, you will have some gains, but not in the 4th gen trucks. That being said, I have a CAI., love the sound it makes on my engine, also have a free flow exhaust, love the sound there also, but until I put in a tuner, there was nothing to write home to mamma about. These trucks are engineered to have the most horsepower they can and be the most fuel efficient at the same time. Throttle body spacers wont help either. If you don't believe this, take your truck, dino it, put on the CAI and dino again, you will see, no gains, maybe at 100mph + with full throttle you might see some differences but do you drive your truck like that all day, all week? If you want hp, its in the low end that you want it, where you will have it for you in daily driving. If you buy this stuff to get HP then your buying it for the wrong reasons, if your buying it to have a permanent filter for as long as you own your truck, or for the sound it creates, for the fun of modding your truck, then this is for you.

I put one on my 2013 sport a few weeks ago and i love it. Definitely noticed a slight power increase but according to my evic i was at 14.6l/100km and since the install thats down to 12.0l/100km.

A quick question for anyone though, in the 2013s the AC line kind of gets in the way of the airbox. I couldn't get it completely out of the way so my intake doesn't sit perfectly on the foam piece. Is that ok? I don't seem to notice any issues.
