Default Jeep SRT8 Headers Fit!!

I found out over on DT forums that a guy had installed LT Kooks headers for a SRT8 Jeep onto his truck and they fit perfectly! On 2wd not 4wd just fyi. He did have to make a small "dent" in one pipe to clear the motor mount but it really won't affect anything. You still get the trouble codes for the rear 02 sensor but other than that they bolt right up with no problems. OBX LT's for the Jeep work as well, there is already a group of guys over there planning on ordering some.

Info from the other forum including the link where you can find pics of the install. SnRusnak if you read this, the truck belongs to Josh from HTC In case no one knows, this guy runs a 12.2 in the 1/4 in his express RCSB. All motor, tuned and bottle fed

"Installed a set of Kooks On my 2011 Ram last Night...
They are Off a SRT8 Jeep.
Got them Pretty cheap used.
I didnt have to do any modification on the passenger side for fitment except remove a heat shield that coverts the rear of the motor mount.
On the drivers side i had to remove the same shield and dent one of the primary tubes about an 1/8th inch to clear the motor mount.

Well worth it IMO
The small dent will not affect performance at all.

*Note*
You will need a longer O2 sensor on the drivers side.
On passenger side you will need to cut the zip tie holding the sensor up so it can reach the header

the link won't work unless you fix the obvious (dot), not sure how the Z admins feel about linking to other forums sometimes...

He did, he said he put the original pcm in at first and it threw codes but then put the b&G in with the 2 rear 02's off and it has been no codes since.

I saw these installed in person about a month ago(this is Josh's truck, right Steve?), they fit pretty well. I will say that they were TIGHT, almost hitting the frame rail on the passenger side but he said they did not make any contact. And the dent he is talking about in the primary tube really is very minor.

I wonder if obx will realize this and just re-work them so no denting is involved? Hmm.... may have to write an email later!

Indeed it is, I didn't see he had long tubes on his truck when we were in Orlando, seriously awesome and way cheaper than the ARH set up.

You're welcome, and thanks! I was thinking about putting in the SRT8 Chally LT headers but now that these are up...

I saw the pics, I was thinking if the motor war rocking it might nudge the frame but hey, what guy doesn't like a tight fit

I think I'll be sending them an email as well. I'm glad they fit, I'm pretty sure they don't know but it can't be hard to change the headers to move maybe 1/4" to avoid the frame

LOL. Yeah Josh was at my house a few weeks before when we went to the track and I had looked at them. It is seriously tight at least on the passenger side as only looked at them for a minute, but he claims there's no contact under load so if that's true then all is good
