Default Rustoleum Plasti Dip Knock Off

Hey all...
Just thought I'd pass along some info... Rustoleum has a knock off of Plasti Dip. It's regularly $15 (which is $5 less than Plasti Dip) and it is currently on sale at Crappy Tire for just under $13.
Now, I like this stuff - it has a nozzle that you can turn from a horizontal spray to a vertical spray pattern. And it seems to spray just a little better than the Plasti Dip cans I have used previously.

WORD OF WARNING!!
Test the can to ensure that it sprays. I've run across 4 cans at Home Depot (the other place that sells it) and 2 cans at Crappy Tire that just don't spray. Depress the nozzle and nothing happens.

In any case, you can find it in the spray paint aisle.

Everything is cheaper in the states it seems. He was reffering to Canadians i think.
I wouldnt call it a knock off at all i used it to put a coating on my quad ramps and the stuff is durable. I did 6 coatings mind you but its quiet nice in comparison. The spray nozel issue is real though, i found the same thing. After use turn it upside down n spray. It also says on the can to soak the nozzel in a solution but i just exchanged it.

Yeah, these were brand new cans. I even swapped nozzles from a working can to a non-working can and still no go. So the issue is with the can itself and not the nozzle.

Didn't know there was a knock-off. Thanks for the tip. I managed to find a can of plasti-dip a few weeks ago 40% off at a Home Hardware that was closing, but it was still $14 CDN.

So would you say this "knock off" is the same quality or better? Or would I be sacrificing a little quality using it instead of plasti-dip? Cuz I saw that stuff everywhere today, yet the plasti-dip was sold out at all 5 crappy tire stores I went to today... Very frustrating!!

I find it is just as good. But I found out today, make sure the can is warmed up. I sprayed some today and it came out very splotchy. Boil up some water and put the can in the hot water and it should spray better.

Pressurized can in boiling water? Lol sounds a wee bit dangerous haha I'm guessing only for a couple minutes eh?

You don't boil it on the stove. Boil the water, take it off and put the can in it. It'll cool off pretty quick. Could use just plain hot water, but I would think hotter water would be better.
