Default Upgrading the stock Alpine system?

I was just wondering if it possible to upgrdae any of the compnents of this system (door speakers, amp, sub)? Is it a 5 channel amp running this system as well? Has anyone upgraded the sub in the stock enclosure?

I powered the stock sub with an amp and it sounded ok. I would recommend a nice box and 10" sub. I would start with upgrading the sub and a sub amp and replace the dash speakers with some nice 2 ways. Make sure they are 2 ohm. Also disconnect the so called Centre channel dash speaker. See how you like it after these small mods. You will find the system will sound much better with just these changes.

Unfortunately, it take quite a bit of $$ and time to make a significant difference. I've replaced all dash speakers and the mids in the door. All are still running off OE amp. The highs are crisper, but too bright. Next, I plan to delete corner dash speakers, and power a component set in the front door with an aftermarket amp. Taking baby steps --- in stages until I am somewhat happy. You can't simply drop coaxes in the front doors. There is no full-range signal up front. In a nutshell, the system sounds horrible for what it is supposed to be, and it a major pain to upgrade.

I beg to differ. Good 2 ways in the dash and a good amp and sub and it sounds much better.
